Notice regarding change of KT-type material


Thank you for your continued patronage of our KYOTOTEX gold and silver threads.We would like to inform you of the change to the Polyester 75d material used for KT-type threads.

In order to ensure better-stabilized quality and avoid rocketing sales prices, we will gradually replace the current Polyester Color Wooly threads to Polyester Color Spun-dyed threads.


Due to this change we ask you to beware of the following
* The requirement for the adjustment of texture differences when knitting, arises because the conventional white inner thread (KT-001, etc.) and black inner thread (KT-035, etc.) are SDY threads, and colored inner threads (KT-013, etc.) are DTY threads, no linger exists.
All white, black and colored inner threads will be SDY Polyester threads.

The new type will have a relatively different texture to that of the old type, we advise you to avoid mixing past products for use.

New color number products with Z or X share the same color number with past products with S while they will be different in color.

* The lot number is indicated on the inside label of the product, with the following extra information
+ Old types are indicated with an S as a final letter of the lot number (e.g. LOT930001S).
+ New types are indicated with a Z or X as a final letter of the lot number (e.g. LOT930001Z or LOT930001X).

There is no change in color for products which have P as a final letter of the lot number. This is SDY threads as before.

The change this time round does not affect the make-up of the products, that is, threads remain the same make-up of 34% metallic polyester and 66% of polyester thread, or the amount of deniers.

Please note that products indicated with an S will still be available for some time. As soon as S material phases out all products will automatically be labeled with either a Z or X in the lot number, and S lot products will be unavailable.
